So, after months of writing, submitting and waiting for replies of funding agencies, I finally received the answer I was craving for. My Young Investigator grant, from São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) was granted!
This project is a natural continuation of my previous works. An expansion, both geographically and methodological, to understand why capuchins monkeys behave so differently in similar places. Is cultural variance the only explanation to the great tool use diversity Serra da Capivara capuchin monkey, or ecological and genetic variables are a strong factor?
For the first time, a comprehensive study, using comparable methodology on several sites will be done, including the main variables we need to identify and understand the Capuchin Culture.
